So I upgraded my dads 10yr old bow with a new string, Peep whole, a D-loop, whisker biscuit (sp), and a Cobra fiber optic (5pins) sight with a light and level. I am planing on taking out one of the pins since I probably will never shoot over 50yrds. I need to sight in my bow 10, 20, 30, 40 yards and wonder if going from the ground at those distances change when you go 20ft up in the air?
Forget the 10yd pin. Your 20yd pin should impact at the same spot. I can explain it to ya...but, trust me. Longer dist. pins are good for practicing and follow up shots. With proper form, you shouldn't see a diff. at short distance, when moving from ground to air. Just practice from your perch. Good luck.
Make those pins 20, 30, 40, 50.(Even if the 50 doesn't get used right away, hell the 40 might not either) You'll be fine from 20 feet up as long as you are on level ground.
when shooting from a stand, it is the horizontal distance that you have to shoot for, not the distance at the angle you are shooting. When shooting from a stand always draw your bow straight back like as if you are shooting at something straight across from you, then lower your upper body down to aim by bending at the waste. Don't draw your bow while pointed at the animal you are shooting as it will change your anchor/form.
