I am new to archery hunting but not new to deer hunting in general, ive been a few times and have decided to cough up the money to get a bow of my own. Im looking at hoyts and Mathews and I realize that these are extremely expensive however I would like to get yall's feed back on what bow yall recommend. I have looked at a lot of the hoyts and Mathews bows just not sure which one I should buy.

    Thanks to all who respond
    Andrew

Check out Mission which is made by Mathews. They are quality bows without breaking the wallet. I wouldn't buy expensive accessories at first so you can figure out what works best before you make an even bigger investment. Best of luck!

i just bought last seasons model PSE which is the sinister i love it, but if your just starting out what i would do is just go up to cabelas/bass pro/schields or what ever out fitter u have close or if u can find a pro shop go there, shoot a wide variety of bows and keep your mind open, dont look at the name and make a decision i never thought i would own a PSE as i was a Browning shooter, loved my browning but after 3 years of shooting diff bows i finally fell in love with the PSE sinister. good luck and talk 2 some guys on here if u find what u want, u might b able to get a deal on a used one.

Go to your local pro shop and shoot a few different brands. What works for one person may not work for you. If you like it and you can shoot it good then it don't matter what brand it is. Its all about what works for you.

    My vote is Mathews
    QAD Rest
    Spot Hogg Site
    Easton Arrows
    Slick Trick BHs
    True Fire Release
..... but there are a bunch of good products out there.

    Best a Luck!

I started with the g5 quest rogue, package deal for a little over 400$. I love it. But I'll be upgrading most of the accessories by next season. Shot 3 deer with it out to about 33 yards. I think it shoots tacks, especially with an axion stabilizer.
Also, I won a mathews, so there's that. I'd never be able to afford a new one otherwise though.

QFT. I suggest you started with the most basic accessories. As you grow as an archer, you'll figure out for yourself what you will need. Your question will also be more specific, instead of a throwing a general question like "what should i put on my bow?"

I started out knowing nothing about bows, or what I wanted or needed. I learned from people here, watching videos on the net, and investigating a bunch of bow companies, their web sites, and shooting everything out there, whether in my price range or not. I made some costly mistakes, but now I am very satisfied with what I have, and other than some upgrades to my sights, quiver, etc. I am very very happy. Welcome to the sport. Investigate everything, whether you can afford it or not...then try to identify what you like about the expensive bows, and see what you can get that meets that criteria in a less expensive model. Don't be afraid of Bear...they offer some very reasonable bows, with good quality. Mission, Diamond and PSE offer some reasonable alternatives to the higher end bows as well. First decide what you like, why you like it, and what other brands offer similar traits for less money. Or now that the 2014's are mostly in stock, alot of pro shops have deals on 2013 closeout models.
Good luck, the other commenters here gave you some great advice as well.

I would suggest that you go to as many shops as you can and shoot every bow you can get your hands on , the right bow will find you ...
