Hey all, I am pretty new to self filming and plan to plunge into it next season. I have been looking between the Sony handycam 405 and the Canon r800, does anybody have any expereince with these cameras? Also, would I be able to put an external mic on either of them? Any information in this new world of self filming would be greatly appreciated!
It looks like the Sony as NO input for an external mic. The Canon appears to have a mic IN and headphones out, both on the side under the flip out screen ... a very poor location, IMO. There is no way to attach an external mic to the camera either.
