I got a Bear Legion early last year. Had it set to 64#'s. Midway through this past season I did some practicing. I started to get a stiff spine reaction jumped to 125gr and it helped a little. Here recently I measured my draw weight its at 60#. That's on my cheap scale and also my dads scale. I'm figuring string stretch. Heard factory strings aren't the greatest. So my question is.
Should I get new good strings?
I have used Vapor Trail in the past.

    Btw 29" 340 Beaman ICS hunter's. 28" draw. 125gr slick trick mag.

I have used and had luck with both Winner Choice and Vapor Trail. If you have a press and strings are in good shape you can add twists to the cables to increase you draw weight. Be sure to check the A2A to make sure its in spec too.

Hutch is trusted and popular here. Hope try out his strings in the future. My current favorite are my JBKs. I've had winners choice, not bad. Vapor Trail, not bad. Before that, I shot pro strings, but they're no longer making strings due to poor health.

I've had Winners choice and they do stretch a little but not as much as a 4 pound drop so that seems kind of odd to me. I now got a new mathews bow and it has the zebra strings on it. I've put about 300 arrows through it so far and no stretch at all.
I think you cant go wrong with any of the known better companies.

How much drop is normal? I'm gonna double check the poundage. If its to much I'll get new strings, but if not I'll try them for another season or so.

another vote for Bowstring Depot. ive had my strings on for 2 weeks and about 300 shots and zero stretch. Hutch is a good guy and can make them any color combo you want.

There are alot of top notch string builders these days. Throw some names in a hat and pick one. You won't be disappointed.

Stick with Vapor Trail... Great strings at a good lrice. VTX material is superior to most others like 452x. No stretch, and not affected by hot/cold, wet/dry. Everyone has thier preference. Measure your ATA to see how much stretch. You'd be surprised.

Good luck with whatever you chose.
