Hello all! New to the site! I am probably going to buy a new Mathews Z7 this week and want to outfit it with a new rest and new sight.

Two issues concerning this, I want a rest that will quietly hold my arrow whether in the stand or on my belly crawling through the grass- however I want to sacrifice as little arrow speed as possible, why buy a fast bow only to slow it down again!

Second issue, I am mostly blind in my left eye which sometimes makes it hard to focus on the pin and the target at the same time, ecspecially early in the morning, late in the evening, and at longer distances.

So with this in mind I would love to hear some suggestions, thanks!

As far as a rest? From what you have said you are looking for I would recommend a Octane Hostage Pro. I think you would be very pleased.

Sights I'm not sure but I'm thinking you need something with a better field of view, maybe a bigger pin size? Possibly .029 vs. .019 The HHA rear sliders are available with a 2" pin hood to provide a very nice uncluttered field of view.

If you are looking for a multi-pin sight, Spot Hogg and Viper are Top notch choices.

    Jason,
Sights are pretty much a personal issue. As stated above I would use the larger sight pins, probably .029. Something to consider would be the installation of the Anchor Sight.
This, in itself, is NOT a sight, but a device for knowing you are properly anchored. You can use this without a peep sight. Do a search for Anchor Sight and you will find tons of good info.
I bought the Z7 too and have installed a QAD full capture rest and planning on Viper H1000C Sights along with the Anchor Sight.
Good luck and have fun with the new bow!!!

Lots of great rests on the market. I outfit most if not all my bows with the Limb Driver I also have the Octane Hostage Pro which is a great full containment rest.

For sights, I own 4 Viper sights, 2 Pro MT's and 2 Pro 2000's however, Spott Hogg and the new Octane Sights are very interesting to me as well. I'm really looking forward to seeing the new Octane Ext bar Sight being introduced next week at the ATA show. I'm hoping to A, bring one home with me or B, order it immediately.
