Hey guys, I'm looking at getting a new sight, and was looking at either a Spot Hogg or an IQ Micro Retina lock. I was hoping to get any information or insight you guys might have regarding either of these sights. Any info you guys could give me would be great, thanks in advance!
I have the IQ micro retina lock. I think its a good sight. I haven't killed an animal with it on my bow, but I'm shooting very accurately with it.
You can get a SWORD sight with 3rd axis adjustments for half the price, Im shooting a Sword Apex and love it.. plus its 100$ Check em out, there tough as nails and easy to adjust.. Sights : Sword : Bowhunters International, Bowhunters Supply Store, Archery Supplies, Archery Equipment, Bowhunting Supplies
I think the retina lock is a neat feature. I like that it doesn't try to change your form. When you're setting it up, you move the retina lock to the desired location based on your form and current setup. I definitely give it a glance when i'm target shooting, but I don't think I would look at it in a high pressure shot situation. I have a kisser and a peep on my bow, so my anchor points are exactly the same every time. The retina lock would be more useful to someone who is not using a peep or a kisser and may have trouble anchoring in the same spot every time. Good luck! Hope this helps a little.
I've used the IQ for two years. It improved my shooting form by making me more consistent. Had no problems hunting with it.
I was leaning towards the spot Hogg 7 pin sight from Cabelas...but wanted to see what people with the retina lock thought of the sight as it seems interesting. Thanks for all the info guys I really appreciate it!
I just purchased a IQ for when my new bow comes in. Hoping I will be happy with it. One thing I can say is dont buy it from the store. Look on Archery Talk and ebay save yourself some money, I was able to get a 7 pin for $110
What sight did you end up with? I am in the same position, I'm leaning toward either a Spot Hogg Boss Hogg or their Tommy model. I'm looking for mainly a good all around hunting/ target sight, would like a tool-free adjustment with 5 pins and light. I am open to checking out other brands as well, just hoping to get some feedback from you guys out their with more experience than myself, just started bow-hunting after about a ten year hiatus. Thanks for your replies in advance!
