This is my first time going bow hunting and I've been reading and watching everything I can and asking questions.. my husband doesn't seem too concerned but what do I do about my LONG THICK hair?? Okay.. I know you can't be 100% scent free to begin with.. but what about us women who have LONG THICK hair.. what can we do for scent control??

    Thanks,
    Carol

Dead down wind has shampoo. It says huntress approved on the bottle. That's about as far as I've looked into it.

I bet this would be her best bet. I hear the women folk like their hair to be soft. My hair is only 1/4" long, but my beard gets all hard and scratchy after using scent free shampoo

I wash mine with scent free shampoo, comb, and spray with scent killer before pulling back in a pony tail. I put hair ties all the way down to keep it from blowing around. Don't worry about it, you'll be fine

I know Kristine went through this last season and found a bunch of scent free products as the grocery store. You just have to really look for the stuff. I know the Just for Does stuff is supposed to be real good though.

Well I did have long thick hair last year lol but I didn't do much with it as far as scent free shampoo and conditioner. That stuff never was a good as the stuff from the salon it made my hair feel nasty and dry. I would just make sure I sprayed it down well before the hunt throw it up and put it under a scent lok hat. It seemed to work fine for me just okay the wind and you will be good.

Hope this helps you out some but I'm sure I will hear something from a few of the guys but that's alright. :tu:

I was going to try the spray and under a hat.. but my hair is REALLY thick and doesn't fit under any of the scent hats I've found.. LOL.. guess I have a large head and thick hair.. never really been able to wear baseball caps.. ESPECIALLY "Ladies" caps.. my hair goes a little past 1/2 way down my back but is super thick, about 5" round if you grab it.. one of the twins has my hair but LONGER, past her waist but not quite as thick.. so she will have the same trouble when she comes with us..

I'll keep looking for a LARGER scent hat but use the spray and rubber band all the way down to keep it out of the wind.. might have to find a scent hoodie but so hard to hear when I have that on..

Thank you all for your suggestions.. I know I shouldn't worry too much but I'd like to give myself a good shot at one of the nice bucks in our area.. Although everyone says they hope I DON'T get one of the bigger bucks.. LOL.. because then my hubby won't be able to hunt.. I'll leave him at home with the twins and go out without him.. LOL

No really they all hope I get a large buck for my first one. :)

    Thanks again,
    carol

Do nothing different except always play the wind. Guys stink just as much as long thick hair or perfume.

I buy Dove products because most are scent free. The only thing i can't find is mousse or gel. As a woman with long hair (waist length) I have to have some sort of product I'm my hair. Good luck!

I feel for ya! My hair isn't as thick as yours (still fits under a ball cap) but it is naturally curly and frizzy. I still use my spray gel but spray down w/ cover sent. Never been a problem. Good luck! Nothing like shooting a bigger buck than the husband :woot:
