I have been using a regular wrist wrap release since i started bow hunting but im thinking this year I might switch to T.R.U. Ball T-Handle Thumb Hunting series. Just havent used the T-handle type release before so wanted to get a little bit of feedback from yall.
I made the switch this summer. For me I have a better more consistent anchor with the thumb release. I also noticed better grouping after my switch. I have the TRU Ball ST360 4 finger release.
I've been looking for a release that had the features of a T-handle but shot like a trigger release for years. I tried the Stan Eagles, looked at the Carter Strapless, and finally found the Scott Stingray. I couldn't be happier. If you like a T-handle but don't want to go to a thumb release it is a good option. http://www.scottarchery.com/archery-releases/stingray-series-releases-stingray.php
My experience is to not buy cheap thumb trigger releases. Most I have seen have way too much trigger travel so if you are going to make the switch, don't go cheap. I tried a tru ball pro diamond several years back and I don't reccomend it.I love tru ball releases and still use a SSII to hunt with and they have great top end hand helds but stay away from the cheaper models. If money is an issue,go used. Disclaimer,I tried the pro diamond several years ago and they might be better now.
