I know every year we seem to have a lot more then we would have expected of people that do not show up to participate at all. I agree with looking at post counts prior to drawing teams. This contest is for forum members so those that are not part of the forum do not need to be part of the contest!
The Cull will happen within 2 weeks of drawing teams. If members haven't checked in, they'll be replaced with alternates. I'm drawing teams one week before the start of the contest. I'll post more direction with the Team lists.
Teams will be randomly selected. Once they are, teams will start their team threads. That's where you check-in.
Post count check may alienate some "active" people. I have been here for about a year and a half, and I check in and keep up with whats going on almost everyday, but my post count doesn't show that. I just generally don't have much to say. I add my two scents once in awhile just to show I am still around. Looking forward to the contest though, and do see the need for some type of check to make sure those who sign up will participate.
Last year I was on the waiting list and got called in. Its alot more fun when its very active. That is my one fear getting a team that doens't participate or talk much. Hell last year we had a ton of posts plus we text and called each other. That season will never be beat. We may have only gotten 2nd but it was a win for the season.
Yes I really hope that most realize this is for fun...not for making money. Only people interested in having a good time should be in it. People who not only want to have fun and be successful in the woods but also truly want to see others have a successful season. Thats the point of this I think, to build friendships on bh.com and have a good time...help encourage others to have a good time and help make every harvest special to the others on here...not only just on your team but just in general. Stay active and have fun guys and gals!
Let me ask how many sign up that can only legally shoot one deer. If I read the rules right, you can enter two deer in the contest, right? We can only get one tag here this year. I hate to get on a team and only be able to enter one deer when you can enter two in the contest. I'd feel like I'd be letting the team down.
I've only been on the forums and couple weeks now. I haven't been posting too much, but am on the Site several times a day reading. Looking forward to getting plugged in with a group of guys and following them through the season. Should be fun! Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk 2
When I say post count minimum, I'm talking 25 or something like that. If you don't or can't get to that number, you most likely won't be that involved in a team anyway, which is the whole fun of the contest.
