Ordered one of these a few days back and I finally opened the thing up tonight....gotta say while it hasn't hit the field initial thoughts and reactions are that it is is a solid design (TINY) and if the pictures impress me as much I'm sure I'll be grabbing a few more as funds allow.

Are all the pictures as dark as all the ones floating around facebook? Only pictures out of them that seem to have the right exposure are the super bright sunny day open field ones. The actual clarity of the images looks great. Just seems like all the pictures are super dark.

Will be placed at the property today or tomorrow. The image quality has been tremendous for clarity and color, but yes I've also noticed the pictures tend to be on the darker side. Sacrifices are made somewhere to ensure better quality picture at times.

I plan on starting it on a edge set up so light should be less of a problem.

I assumed it was to boost the clarity.

Yup. I actually plan on inviting the owner onto a podcast once I get my studio fully set up for guest calling. If I do I'll be sure to share on the thread as this is no doubt one of the discussion points.

The darker pictures are a result of higher resolution. It is a truer representation of actual colors. Lower resolution photos appear brighter.

Precisely. That has been one thing I've actually appreciated is the pictures appear more true to life...meaning if they're standing in the shade of a big tree and the sun is setting the picture while not in night IR mode is darker as it would be if there.

I know you got some examples, throw some of your pull pics on this thread for folks swinging by.

These are a perfect example. Time stamp is 8:30pm. Camera is in the shade of a big cedar tree. A lot of cams would be switching to IR at this time of day.

I need to get mine out. I'm hoping to get it out on Friday. I ordered the Low Glow. I actually like that it only runs on 4 batteries. According to some info I've seen, you should bet 7000-10,000 pics on standard AA's and double that on Lithium batteries. I feel like I could actually afford to buy lithium's if I'm only putting 4 batteries in at a time instead of 8 or 12 like the rest of my cams.

As for battery life expectancy. Seems estimation (concurs with Skywalker's comment) is 7,000-10,000 with solid alkalines (I use Pro-cells) or around double that with solid lithiums.

At the rate of only 4 a pop I may go lithiums...but love pro-cells and last year in some of my Coverts I put batteries in June and didn't have to do a thing till after season so they are solid options.

Cam set up on a tree is not happening till tomorrow now sadly. However, will only let soak about a week or two as to share images quick and move it than to a different type set up (shade, edge, wooded....)

All the pictures I'm seeing are what I'd categorize as true to life images...if the image is in the shadows and/or low light...you will get that exact thing. The clarity of the picture remains great, but the lighting is not brightened up or washed out like some do. Time will tell.

May be grabbing a Browning here shortly as well and will do similar reports.

I'm not sure if I like the idea of the controls on the outside of the camera. It probably doesn't make a difference though.

You can password protect if it others you're worried about.

Time will tell how I like it or not. I know I used to not care for remote based ones and got used to it too...

I think it's just my preference. I'm so used to everything being hidden. I kind of like the idea of the controls being protected on the inside.

I am curious if the seal or button becomes an issue longterm being on outside. I suspect not but we shall see.
