Just finished scouting a new property that family friends of mine gave us permission on!! its 30 acres has a large pond with a feeder stream so a good water source, and a lot of acorns. bedding seems to be outside the property so that will be interesting to figure out.
Does anybody have any tips or tricks they use when they get a property they have not hunted before?

Observe from the fringes and work your way in.

Glass from a distance and place some trailcams. Good luck. There's nothing more exciting than figuring out a new spot.

Trail cams and start slowly putting the puzzle together.

Do you have any spots for any food plots or can you do some selective cutting?
