While I've had cams up a while I haven't had time to share pics from the new property. Couple bucks are possibly gonna be targeted already there in the first year...however both appear to be just 3 1/2 (4.5 at oldest...2nd one looks older to me if one is older...) I believe:

    Splits (both G2's are split)

    Un-named buck...his right G2 is working on a kicker and a G4 as well...

Nice pics. Chests look the same in my opinion so I would say they are both 3.5 year olds. Looking good

Great racks either way. But id say the first is younger.

Third year is my thoughts as well....Depending where Splits washes out growth wise and seeing him in person may cause me to not wait. But both of these deer look awesome for their suspected age....who knows could be like Ernie for Clinton in that age never matches what we see body wise...

Got some other deer on the Swamp Property that are 4 years or older so these 2 may be secondary which could be a good thing for 2017 bahaha! But we shall see!

Very very nice. Do you have a feeder set up there or are they just crossing that opening?

No feeder. That area you see in the background is a 8-10+ year old fallow grown up field. This is a lane we keep open from an easement to the property. Pretty much in the bedding area haha...much more dedicated bedding to the South and East (towards what you see).

Looking good Ty. Do you have an approximate buck:doe guestimate for your property? I like to keep a higher doe ratio for the area (or at least influence it that way) than typical so the bucks have a reason to come to my property considering it's small size. This year we're seeing around 4-5 does per buck according to what my cameras tell me, I was curious to see what you had going on at your property.

The make up of this property being a pocket of strong secluded cover in a more "rural" type area makes it a buck paradise it would seem, as we have far more bucks than does around...however that is to be expected this time of year due to outside of natural brows there is no food sources. In my years I've discovered or it would seem most of the bucks I've hunted prefer to travel to the food at night than bed close to it like doe families do more typically.

So doesn't entirely surprise me that 3 out of every 4 pictures we get deer wise are bucks....I think as we incorporate more small food sources and enhance the property more so I will see a slight uptick in doe numbers. I'm not too terribly worried though because once the corn is picked to the SE my property's small food plots will be the only non brows type sources of food (TONS of brows everywhere) in the immediate area...with only alfalfa offered to the North across one main road which they will cross.

Haha, well I'd trade you a few does for a few of your bucks. We seem to have the opposite effects going on. Since there is mostly deep woods, a few livestock pastures and very little crop around us the bucks travel through my property but the does literally live there. Which is expected, especially with the bucks travelling further and further during the rut, it's hard to pick any specific target buck. I kick up does and fawns every year when freshening the mineral sites or walking the property and see them on clockwork during the rut, so it's all about posting up in a tree at the right time when they go in heat and letting them do the work to bring the bucks in.

Sounds/looks like you have an "overpopulation" problem.

I'd be glad to "sacrifice" some of my time to come out there and help you with your population control!

Nice, and I agree they are young... Be tough to pass, but you can't kill them all. Good luck!

And only one trespasser so far which was swiftly scared stiffless. I think this place is possibly better than I thought it was going to be.
