I always use the "active" model or similar Androids. I just upgraded from an S5 Active to the newest one available, the S7 Active. They're way tougher than a normal version, dust proof, water proof and tougher glass screen. I had my S5 paid for and was off contract and it was still going strong but my mom's cheap go phone quit. I upgraded mine and gave my old one to her and changed it over to her service for her.

I do the lease thing as well, sure I could afford to just buy the phone outright but I have to pay a monthly service bill anyway so why be out the up front cash all at once.

That's what is great about having choices;) I have an iPhone 5, I could care less what I have.

    ?
My main point was that I like the Active style androids because they are tougher than a normal phone. Around the farm, the normal phones don't last very long.

Bought the Google Pixel XL a little while back and I must say I will not be going back to Samsung phones. Still has Android software but much faster and more user friendly.

The S8 gets a lot of mixed reviews, that's for sure.

Yes there are some things in like about it and here are few things I can't stand either. Way to much clutter and redundancy. Bixby is a waste at best and a blantant annoyance at times. The fact that it can't be totally removed sucks. The Mirrored Samsung and goggle apps...why? The home screen layoff is counter Intuative with shortcuts and then a separate page for apps. Totally more complicated then it needed to be. The finger print scanner is total waste in the location they put it in. Its pretty much useless. This maybe a deal breaker for me as many financal apps i use have figger print Recognition as a primary Security feature.
But my main issue is the clutter and Redundancy makes for less than ideal user experience.
The display is excellent and the operating system is snappy. The camera is fantastic, the absoulte best i seen on a phone. Really like the micro sd card and the buttons and ports are user friendly. I am going to use is few more weeks, at least till after my caribou hunt, if for no other reason than the camera and great battery life.

I had the active s5 and loved it. It took a ride on the bed rail of my truck never to be seen again. Dang thing had a 128G card in it too. The s6 series sucked cause they took away the expanded memory slot. After they heard the grumbles from the droid heads they brought it back with the 7's. I switched to an I phone 7 and have it in a Lifeproof. No complaints yet
