I was reading somewhere on here that a potential state record typical buck was killed in Pa this past season? I believe it was taken in Bedford county (could be wrong) by a gun hunter. It supposedly scored 203" and had 17 points, anyone have any info or a link to some info?
I usually keep up on things like this. I haven't heard of a 200" deer being killed in PA. If there is, keep an eye on North American Whitetails because thats world class for any state. I have heard of some Booner class deer being killed in Western PA.
Live very close to Bedford County and haven't heard anything. I've seen a few of the "shot in this county, but actually it was shot 5 states over." Maybe someone fell for one of those?
I know there was some monsters killed in the state this year - but I'm not sure about any records. I'll go investigate some...
I agree. Usually with that number of points they don't/can't score them as typical, but this one did. It was what looked like a fairly even 7x7 with a couple of junk points, which I guess they deducted for asymmetry. Unless I'm going completely crazy, I think it was somewhere on this site that I first saw this a few days ago. There was a pic and a brief story. I think it said it would be officially scored by Jan 28th, that's why I was inquiring about it. Somebody has to know something about it, I didn't dream this up. lol DISREGARD THIS THREAD I just Googled it, and it shows it was posted here back in 2012. I didn't initially see this date! lol A guy named Dave Altman killed it, but I don't know the outcome of the scoring. Sorry for delivering OLD news. lol
