So on a day when you unexpectedly have to buy a new tire for you car, instead of feeling bummed you get some new Craftsman hex tools for your Stan Shootoff Blackout Thumb release and Hogg Father sight. Don't forget to stop by Schaffer Performance Archery and get the owner John Schaffer himself to sell you one of his Opposition arrow rests. Anybody out there have some arrow shaft and fletching recommendations?
I actually went and mounted the Hogg Father on my HTR, all by myself no less. Which begs the question where in the livingroom is a good place to take a picture? With the bow weighing in at 4.3 pounds, and the sight adding another, this thing feels like a beast! Very solid and surprisingly well balanced despite the heft.
I just called the pro shopper on my red custom colored strings, cables, and serving Nocam. they said now Mathews inc are now producing the custom colored no cams. cant wait
That's what I'm hoping. Dedication, patience, and practice practice practice. The No Cam is just so solid! It sends the arrow effortlessly. Where's Russell Wilson today?
I had my Ballistic for 2 yrs I had it dialed in. Now I am relearning again to shoot this bow. It definitely feels heavier than my Mission so I need to get stronger to get steadier. haha my groups are not tight enough yet. Plus I'm shooting a new adjustable sight compared to my 3 pin Truglo.
Your welcome Tenacious. I had ordered a black tactical but just couldn't wait. Besides, deer don't see in colour.
AndyWest, I love your setup, it looks very deadly. You were right about the Opposition rest, it's foolproof. Noc it and draw, easy peasy. Who did you have tune your rig?
Did you guys saw the new sight that john made. Its alot lighter and sicker the the old sight. Im getting that sight in lost camo. And i called about my custom colered no cam. There so behind things that my custom colered bow wont be here till feb 14
Yes Xoutdoors, John Schaffer showed me his new Opposition Lite sight at his shop. It is super light, something like only 4oz's. I personally prefer the precision of my Spot Hogg single-pin, but come hunting season I might have to give his sight a try. I've got to ask which custom colour did you order, and how much more did they charge you?
I just added a 8" B-Stinger Hunter Xtreme stabilizer today. A lot of guys recommended the 10", but I think once I add the b-stinger quick release this stab will be out there far enough for hunting with mobility in the sometimes dense Minnesota woods. I think this bow looks real solid now.
Brian at A1 archery in hudson tuned it. He transferred all my gear off ballistic to my HTR and timed the rest. Then eye balled the rest and arrow for being level and straight. Took one shot at paper. Perfect bullet hole. Shot three more arrows all perfect. Goes to show how easy the HTR is to tune.
