New Mount Stinks

Alright here is what we have:

Got my buck mount back from last year and for the past couple months, it has a bit of a off smell to it. Not sure how to explain the smell other then it if you walk into the room it is in, you wonder what smells. When I first got the mount, I figured it would wear off. It has not.

I have 2 other mounts and do not recall ever noticing a smell to them.

Anyone have any advice or experience this?

NOTE: I have not called the taxi back to questions him, figured I would ask here first to become educated.

The only thing I can think of is if the hide was improperly tanned? That's weird for sure.

Thanks. I am going to drop the taxi an e-mail and ask him about it. Will let you know if anything ever comes of it.
