So I have not purchased a new Mathews since my Reezen. I'm wondering if any of you guys think Mathews will come out with something earth shattering this year, and when? I really like the Halon, but like anyone else I don't wanna buy a bow now and have the opportunity to try out a new bow. Do y'all think Mathews will introduce a new bow this year?

I would wait till the next release. If nothing comes out earth shattering you might be able to pick up a used Halon for a reasonable price when someone else dumps last years for this years.

Bows get a little better every year but "earth shattering" would be a stretch IMO for any manufacturer, not just Mathews. I agree with the previous comments. Wait until next year and see what happens. Then spend 1/2 the money on a bow that's 99% as good as the new one.

I can't imagine they would stray too far from the Halon line of bows just yet, they are only 2 years into this model. I'm shooting the Halon 32 6". It shoots fast, flat and accurate. I think we are only looking at minor improvements to these bows today because I think they have come pretty close to maximizing the potential already.

I'm interested to see what they have for this year. I think there will be a change. Look at their previous years. Almost, without exception, they follow a two year pattern like Apple. Introduce something new, follow with a variation (Drenalin : DXT, Z7:Z7 Extreme, Creed:Creed XS, Halon:Halon 32).

Basically there's a new bow every couple years, with variations in between to help cover a wider range of shooters (ie. shorter ATA, longer ATA, etc). Coming up with something completely new every year, even every other year, is pretty much impossible. You see the same thing with car models and new generations every 5-7 years.

    So... I'm expecting something new.

I thought I was the only person still shooting a Reezen. Hoping to pick up a Halon 32 this next off season.

I sleep with my Halon. It will be a few years before I even consider trading in my Halon for something else.

Guys above are right though. See what they come out with. There will be alot of guys selling a year old bow just to get the latest and greatest.

Just bought my Halon 32 and i love it. I shot several bows before I made my decision and I'm very happy with my Halon.

Matthews came out with the triax it’s basically a halon with a ata length of 28 in and dampeners are in a different spot on the riser. But still weighs over 4 lbs !! Bare bow supposed to be the quietest bow they have ever built. Idk about that it didn’t seem super quit to me when shot it I had a halon 32 and I didn’t think the triax was much different other than the ata. Idk but I think bows are pretty much the same from year to year for any company these days. I know one thing the triax is selling good at least in my neck of the woods.
