I am going to be planting a new plot this spring on an old logging road. Soil has been tested and limed but need ideas as what to plant. I do not have access to any "heavy" equipment and would prefer something that I can plant easily with high results. Any suggestions are welcome.

Clover is a great attractant. it's also very easy to plant.

How well can clover be planted without the use of equipment?

It depends on how much you can prepare the seed bed and when you plant.....if you have access to a garden tiller you can plant either clovers or brassicas....the brassicas will be cheaper and easier to maintain...but they are an annual. the other option if you cant break the ground at all is frost seed the clover. clear the plot of leaves and vegitation in winter (little late for that now) and seed the clover on top of the bare dirt, then the freeze/thaw cycle will pull the seeds under and they will sprout in spring.

Clover would be your best option in my opinion
