I have heard great things about fleece on this site. This winter i am thinking about expanding my hunting clothing selection a little and i was wondering if you guys could give me some input.

My normal winter wear is (starting at base layer) under armor cold gear suit, thermal layer, sweats, goretex bibs and a Russell insulated jacket. Was a little chilly on some sits last year so i am just wondering your input as i haven't put as much time and effort into looking for quality clothing as i have looking for quality deer.

If you're looking for a good insulating layer, check out the S3 Merino Wool stuff by Scent Blocker/Scent Shield. IMO it's the finest base/insulating layer I've ever used. I own several sets of it in fact. The product is non-carbon for those anti-carbon people, and only contains antimicrobials to help prevent odors from forming. I'm going on my 3rd season with the first set I purcahsed and it's held up great to repeated washings. The fabric is very light weight, soft to the touch (not scratchy like most wool) and extremely warm. When I get changed outside on those cold mornings it's like instant heat once the Merino Wool shirt goes on.

When it's really cold, 20's and lower, I usually wear two layers of it and have been snug as a bug in a rug. :tu:
