That would be because you don't have enough knowledge. But, I am more than happy to help you out a little. Shinola was a brand of shoe polish. You work on it and you'll figure out the rest.
Oh. when I read the original post I didn't catch it was the zero turn. For some reason I was thinking your tractor yup let the zero turn go. Maybe she will calm down and you can talk it out Hopefully she will see the bargain and see she is getting things she wants and so should you. hate to see it come to the lawyer thing Use the old...I want a place for me, your son and grandkids to hunt together ploy
Like I said, she has used the lawyer threat at least twice a year for umpteen years to get what she wants or just to try and hurt me when she's mad. This is the first time I've let it pass my lips but she can now consider how it is to be on the receiving end of it. I'll give up hunting and fishing when I am worm food or can no longer get about on my own. The timber purchase is an investment that is more solid than anything else. When we're gone, the kids could easily sell it for a lot more than we paid for it. It holds turkey and deer, and we picked over 300 morel mushrooms on this place in less than 2 hours this spring. The wild raspberries and gooseberries are also abundant here. When it's time, it will easily pay for my granddaughter's college education.
Are u pulling out the "you dont know **** from shinola" bit....thats crazy havent heard that in years...my great grandpa used to say that Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
Just looked at all the available properties in this county and surrounding counties. Timberland is running from $2500 per acre to $4228 per acre, averaging $3,340 per acre. This would make this property somewhere around $172,000.
Geeze Dan. Sure glad you know all the details to call him out and treat him like dirt. Kind of sounds like he has given a lot to his marriage for her. Sounds like he has checked it out so this investment doesn't hurt them in the long run. Tim
I'm with Tim. Judge not... You've earned your dream, Mark. Live it. I hope everything works out well for all those concerned.
Im going to have to side with Iowa Veteran. Its got to be a two way street, im sure its not him just demanding everything and his wife never. Sure he stood at the alter to commit, but so did she.
Look, I agreed that its a sweet land deal and she'd be crazy not to take it. My problem is the talking **** he's doing behind her back. I was taught growing up to respect the women in our lives and not talk down about them publicly. You're right, I don't know the whole story, especially her side. Had Mark done the mature thing and asked for advice on how to convince his wife that its a good deal, I would have been cheering him on. Instead, I hear a grown man stomping his feet, throwing a temper tantrum and talking crap about someone who's not here to defend themselves. That irks me to no end and if it makes me a bad person, so be it.
Of course she does. Her and I discuss everything together. She knows I respect her enough not to air our dirty laundry on the Internet to the world behind her back. If we have a problem, we discuss it.
Quite honestly, sometimes I come out here and air my dirty laundry. But I also try to keep a relative state of anonymity. He didn't say much other than say that tensions were high, until it was brought up that he didnt have his priorities in order.
It sounds as though Mark has sacraficed alot thru out his marriage. Good luck with the decision and purchase.
There you go again Dan. It's his choice and decisions, who are you to question or call out someone else when it's none of your business?
And how is he "stomping his feet, throwing a temper tantrum, and talking crap"? You are always so quick to judge and throw your opinion out and you get pissy when people don't agree with your opinion. Seriously Dan, maybe you should just be the silent moderator rather than judging other folks.
Good luck with the land! That's a steal. Can't touch it here for less than $5-6K/acre, and that's LOW.
