Yeah I noticed that. That's why I was so impressed. Like you said, would have been great to get to him before he was chewed up. Would have been awesome to see his full head gear. Are you going to score it for S&G?

What does land like that in Kansas go for? Here in Illinois, it is so expensive it is sickening! Some with good soil is going for $12,000 to $15,000 per acre!

Good luck with the property, I will be following.

    The buck was a beast!

Very nice! Is there really any 'bad' property in ks for deer? Build it and they will come (if they aren't already there). Sucks to think that beast isn't still running around but he may have a bigger running mate still on the hoof.

I am fine with knowing that there are deer in the area with his genetics. :p You are right. There isn't necessarily a bad property. Some properties just take longer to build then others.

As much as little as you want to pay for it. I've seen land for go that much here as well. I've also seen it go for as little as $1200 an acre....

    A little update.

Hired a dozer and made some new field access roads (red solid line). Had him cleanup some dead tree and stuff why he was at it. We are going to convert the pasture (right Yellow outline) to row crop. I hope we can do a rotation of half beans and corn. Farmer wasn't to hip on the idea of doing any alfalfa. The orange box is where I plan on or mini orchard, apples, peaches, etc.... Red box is above the creek is like a meadow with a big tree here and there. Plan is to clean that out a bit more and convert it to a food plot. I have a feeder up in there right now. Somewhere up around the blue box will be our new home site.

Going to rent a Billy Goat within the next week to cut some trails. I'll take some pics next time I am out!

Go figure... Worst storm all year tonight. We had a radar detected tornado roll right over the top of the property at 8:30 PM. No confirmation yet... Have to wait until morning to see if there was any damage. :(

Great plan for the property. I hope the tornado and any damage missed it.

Hopefully everything is okay, good thing you didn't have a house or cattle on it.

We had heavy rains here as it passed through but no wind or hail. We did have some quarter size hail this afternoon but it didn't seem to do any damage I can find. I wasn't here at the time but I guess it just wasn't heavy enough or a short enough duration things made it through ok. Weather this year has been freaking nuts.

I have a 200acre farm and a 100 acre farm which isnt alot to alot of guys on here. But one of my best spots is a 10 acre finger of timber between a creek bottom and ag fields. 25-30 acres could be golden. 2 acres of prime location beats 500 acres of average ground anyday. Looks like a good spread. Not gonna lie little jealous. Congrats!

Like Covey, we missed most of the severe weather at our place. I'm still a little jumpy from watching the July Tornado though.
Great looking place!! Agree with Shocker99. I've had the best luck at my in-laws 10 acre property, which is in the city limits.

    Really nice looking buck!!

Sheesh... Glad I took the chainsaw. The trees on the road into my place didn't fair so well. I had to stop 4 times and cut the trees up that fell in the road. My land fortunately for the most part was untouched.
