Well she must make 3 times what you do. Get me some doves and geese around that pond for me to shoot. Congrats.
Congrats!!! looks like the perfect place for your boys to walk out the back door and hunt after school. I can see you turning this place into a whitetail magnet.
Just saw this thread... AWESOME-looking spot Jay! There ain't nothin' like being able to walk out your backdoor and start hunting. I sure do miss the one we use to own! Like Ty said, I also hope you have a GIANT living there! Best of luck to you bud - happy hunting
Have you had a chance to scout this before? Know what caliber of bucks you got? I know there are decent bucks out by those Junior Blues!
I haven't done anything yet but walk the property lines. We should close on the property within the next couple of weeks unless something goes south... I'd say there is a pretty good chance of there being some bruisers around.
Congratulations on the land. Its a lot of fun to work it and make what you want happen. I bought some last year and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine..
Congrats....nothing like having your own place. I got a lease as well, but rarely go to it...lol. Sent from my XT830C
We close on the property Friday which just so happens to be my birthday. I went out this afternoon and did a "pre-inspection". I crossed the creek and walked back up in the timber by the small pond. That area back in there has a lot of sign and is perfect. It has good standing timber with real thick stuff along with small pockets of meadows. Not sure at this point how I am ever going to get anything larger then a 4 wheeler in there unless the farmer on the backside will let me use his field access. The creek is pretty steep. I set 2 trail cameras. One on the pond dam and another back along the edge of the south row crop field where 3 access roads come together. I dumped a 5 gal bucket of corn on the ground. I'll check them this weekend and see what I get. Everything is really overgrown right now. It's going to take quiet a bit of work to whip that property into shape.
Cant wait to see what you got roaming around that neck of the woods! I see a lot of penitential In this land! Good luck keep the updates coming!
