Guys it's done and working well. I just need to package it up for apple to put up on the store. I'll let you know. Thanks. Mike Sent from my iPhone
You are right. The app will measure the average speed from bow to target. Farther the shot, the lower the average speed. Still a cool app and would be fairly accurate if it will work at a very short distance. I am impressed with anyone that has the patience and knowledge to write an app. Kudos.
It is done! I finally got around to testing it again. Real work got in the way. I will get a bunch of promo codes for all BH.com guys. I'll let you know when it is out and a link to it. Mike Sent from my iPhone
I would buy the app. I think it would be a fun one to have. would it start and stop its self ? can you save the data on the app from each shot so it can give you an average?
The save and average is not in there yet. I was thinking I would do an update for that in the next couple weeks. So no, it doesn't save data as of yet. I am currently struggling how I want to implement the average. The reason this is difficult is due to the user allowing other bows to shoot with the app as well. If it were only your bow, the average would be fine. I guess I could offer a clear average button, then after you shoot, you can clear your averages then let your friend shoot. The app starts a countdown after you hit the start button. You will have 10 seconds to prepare to shoot. After the 10 seconds, you have 3 seconds to shoot and hit your target. You then have the ability to listen to the shot, but I seldom use that, since there is a nice chart that allows you to see high peaks in sound, ie shooting and hitting the target. When I tested it today, it was .27 off from the chronograph there. I felt that was satisfactory. I wish I could make the app so you didn't have to move the sliders where the shot is made and landed, but I am not there yet. Notice the red and green arrows, you will have to move them. Thanks. So is it a available for the Android market yet and what is it called Sent from my LG-E739 using Tapatalk 2
No, I have written it for the iPhone. If it is popular, I will probably write it for the android. Sorry! Sent from my iPhone
If anyone is interested, here is a video on how it works. It should be on the Apple App Store very soon. Check it out. Mike
Thanks. It was fun to make and test. It is nice to actually take time to make something that I would enjoy as well as others. It's time for a iPhone Christine. ;-) Sent from my iPhone
The app is finally available. PM me if you would like a promo code, I only have 20 left. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/achrono/id530335013?ls=1&mt=8 Thanks. Mike
Sounds cool. I'd also like to have an app that measures the sound decibels levels of your bow when being fired. I sounds like this app could do both. It would be great to know if the stuff you add or take from your bow makes it loader or quieter. I would be interested in an app that could do that.
What about an app to organize your trail cam photos by time of day. Moon phase. Temps etc? Depending on which mode you choosed you'd have all those photos show up. Ie. full moon. 7am. 65-75 degrees.
That would be cool, but I thought there was an app that helps you organize it now. I will look into it Thanks. Mike Sent from my iPhone
I bought your app but havent triex it yet What about the sound level of you bow firing? I'd like to know how quite or not do quiet my bow is. Also, vibration of our bows would be good to know. I forget the term but measure how much energy is going to fire the arrow and how much is going back into the bow?
I can get the decibels from the shot, no problem. Your other idea about vibration , you would have to strap the phone to your bow. It is certainly doable in my end, but you would need to come up with a way to attach it to your bow. Mike Sent from my iPhone
