I want to get into bowhunting for deer and turkey. I have found a couple of bows that I like but the price is a concern. I shoot them good at the range. But I am afraid if I pay say $600 for a pro bow and then get in the field and find out that it doesn't shoot the same. How much better is the pro bows from the main line bows? I guess what I am asking is that are the pro bows that much better for the higher price then the main line bows? Or maybe I should be asking what should I look for when buying a bow for the first time? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to the hunting forum for a better response. Lots of threads like this, you can also do a search and see what has been said before. the main thing you're going to hear is shoot them all and pick one that you think is best. You best and my best are probably quite different. The big boys are Mathews, Bowtech, PSE, Hoyt, etc and you can't go wrong with any of those. The Mission bows are highly thought of as well as Diamond. Again, you have to decide. Shoot them all and pare them down to 3-4 you like. Come back in a couple of weeks and shoot them again. you may be able to get to the one you like that way. Good luck in your search!! Have fun with it!
