I'm looking to get new arrows for the fall and i'm not quite sure what direction to go. I shoot 50 pounds and am currently shooting maxima reds. I have no real issues with them, but i'm just looking into something a little different. I will spend the money on a shaft that is good for my situation. I will be hunting whitetails only. What does everyone here use, and what would you recommend? thanks.

Hey Shane, you're going to get several opinions on this topic. I would like to ask for more information, but will just say, shooting 50# on your setup, using a heavier arrow will carry more energy to the deer, increasing accuracy & penetration (while sacrificing speed). My choice has been Carbon Express Pile Drivers for many years, because they are heavy, over 14 grains per inch. Just my opinion. Hope you have a great time hunting this fall.

You really need to build your arrow around two things. First is your bow and second is your broadhead.
Since your shooting low poundage your going to want to build an arrow to mitigate its effects. Rather then rainbow trajectories of a very heavy arrow, build something that comes in at 400-450 grains and then use a smaller to moderate sized fixed blade head. Hunting only whitetails that's more the sufficient and good compromise.

Axis with 50 (or 75) gr brass insert. Heavy enough to hunt, good FOC, very durable, consistent and made in the USA.

Thanks everyone. I am shooting 100 grain QAD exodus broadheads. I am thinking about going with the Easton hexx and 50 grain brass inserts. Anyone have any experience with the hexx?
