Whats up guys new to the forum and hunting aswell. I plan to do alot of bow hunting so I recently bought myself a Mathews z7 and love it. But I would like to get some opinions on what goes into a sucessful hunt and the best possible way to ensure that I cover up my scent, some tips to ensure I get in my stand without spooking any deer, calls / scents for the rut, basically any thing any beginner should take into account.

    Thanks

Welcome to the site! I'd suggest starting with the Blogs and here (http://www.bowhunting.com/publisher/1/bowhunting-knowledge) on the site. Then use the search tab.

Otherwise ask specific questions, you may not get much for an answer if you don't.

My biggest suggestion is to read, read, read. Online (like BH.com), books (How to read topo maps, bowhunting whitetails, anything by Charles Alsheimer) or magazine (Deer & Deerhunting).

Then spend as much time in the woods as you can. Get to know how the deer are using the land.

    Welcome to the Obsession! :tu:

Welcome aboard, I am on my second year of bowhunting and have learned much here!

Also met a hunting buddy (VA Shadow hunted with him last night) and have a few more folks in the local area that I plan to get up with.

    Good luck!
