    names dan and i just got my first bow the other day. its a browning mirage hunter dont know much about it but got it for free from a buddy if any one has any insight on the bow let me know looking forward to posting on the site

    If I were you, I'd head in to a local proshop and have yourself measured for drawlength to make sore the bow is a good fit. They should be able to tell you more about your bow too!

    yea thats my next step the drawlength seems alittle bit to long for me but i wanna pick up a release before i go to a shop

    Welcome to the site - would recommend you just go to the shop and they will/should have a couple releases(and different styles) for you to try with the bow. The release can essentially extend your drawlength so if the bow is already long for you and they can't shorten it up you may end up wasting a purchase if you just go grab one off the shelf at walmart or the like.

    i was on paper from 20 yards i think it was a good first outting

    Welcome aboard. Like others have mentioned I would try to pick up a release at the shop when you go. it shouldn't matter but when I go for help with something I did not buy from them it does help a little if they see you are trying to support them as well. just my $0.02

    i ended up buying a release off the shelf at ****s and it puts me right at the perfect spot for draw length atleast in my opinion
    i still have to go to a shop to get a peep sight so ill talk to them then

    brought the bow to a local shop today there going to re string it and throw a diff rest on it
