First off I am new here so Hey Everybody! Plan on digging around in the forums to see what's going on and how thing go down around here.

I am heading out this evening and heading to my lease with my dad. So far we have made 2 trips and I have had 2 chances at deer and 0 for 2.

Here is my stories. My first weekend a nice size doe stepped out at 40 yds, I gave her some time and she came straight toward me and turned broadside at 20 yds, I pull back, settle the pin and let her fly...5 ft over her back. WHAT!!!!

Now I am not the worlds greatest archer but I do not miss by 5 ft. I went ahead and got down because I knew something was wrong. I got just about back to camp when I decided to take a shot into a dirt ledge. I knock an arrow, pulled back and then...whack!!!! my inside cable snapped and callasped my 80lb bow right across my wrist. It immedatly turned blue and I could not move it.

Fast forward 2 weeks later. Nice 8pt starts down the trail that I just came in from but it is to my far right. I spent the next 2 minutes turning around and to set up for a shot. At 8yds, I pulled and then he walked further to my right brush, brush, limbs, brush clearing!!!...settle the pin, wham...caught a pencil size limb that I did not see about 4 ft in front of him!!!

    So today we head back.

    Thanks for the warm welcome.

I did make it out again and had a nice size doe come in on me that would have fit right into my freezer but she never gave me a shot. Stayed right inside the brush. Second morning I rattled in a small 8pt and that was my weekend.

My dad had a true monster come in and gave him a perfect 12yd broadside look but he was not able to pull his new bow back. He was so upset he came back to camp and laid down for 2 hours and couldn't talk. Where we usually hunt, a 120 class deer is hugh, this, by the way he described it, was a nice 160 class.

I think I will hunt his stand when I go back!:d
