What's happening, party people? My name is Leo and I live in Oceanside, CA. I have been fishing all of my life and started spearfishing about 5 years ago. I have been wanting to get into bow hunting for quite a while now and finally got a bow and got it pretty dialed in. I got a Hoyt Magnatrac with the ZR200 limbs. It is in really good shape and I had a Trophy ridge 5 point sight put on along with a Whisker biscuit. I have been shooting about 75 arrows a day in my backyard and have been to the indoor range twice. Anyway, I took the hunter safety course today and got my card. I am going to get my license tomorrow and might try to get out on Thursday to look for deer. More than likely will just be hiking around, but I need to put in some time out there and get a feel for things. Well, look forward to chatting with you folks and hopefully learn a thing or 2.
A little more background. I just recently got a bow and took the hunter safety course, passed. Anyway, I seem to have become obsessed with bow hunting even though I haven't been yet. I got my bow pretty dialed in, although I haven't shot it past 20 yards at the range. I shoot pretty consistent groups. I have been doing a little reading about the lack of findable pigs here in SD, but I would still like to give it a go. It sucks that the archery season is about to end for deer, but I can wait until Oct. Anyway, if anybody would be willing to help me out with getting started, I might be able to find a spot on my boat for some fishing. I am probably over zealous and I don't expect anything for a while, but I would like to take most species i.e., deer, pig, turkey with the bow. Anyway, just putting it out there that I might need some help and I don't forget a favor.
