hey guys, i just joined this site(about 5 minutes ago) and im hoping i can fit in. ive never bow hunted before, but thats gonna change. and actually, i havent really shout either of my bows all that much. its hard when im stationed in new jersey and my bows are at home in upstate new york. but anyway, the bows i have are a martin archery wildcat(bought from ****s sporting goods) 60#, and a fred bear grizzly 55# recurve. the recurve is the one i really want to hunt with, but i might settle for the compound the first couple times or so. need a lot more practice with the recurve.

oh, before i forget... i have a wife and two children. one boy(2 years old) and one girl(3 months old). theyre nice too... lol.

    any questions?

Welcome to the forum. I don't post here very often, but just happened in and saw your post. I've taken two does with the bow. It's a terrific sport. We're busy and don't get to hunt very much.

We have two girls, one almost three and one almost six months.

good to hear some replies so soon. haha, you said crack. im hoping i like it, i bought two bows for cryin out loud... im thinking i will, i already like gun hunting(mostly muzzle loader) and the only reason i havent bow hunted yet is i havent taken the bow portion of hunters safety. havent had enough time to practice, and they require you to put 3 arrows in the vitals at 15-20 yards. i dont even know if i could do that right now. so i definately need to practice. and get some good advice. hey, check that out, i think im in the right place.

Welcome to the site! You've come to a great place as a beginner because there are a lot of people around there that are always happy to answer questions and help out when needed. If you like gun hunting, you're about guaranteed to enjoy bow hunting because it's much more of a rush.

That's a great area out there. I have some property just across the border in Bradford County, about halfway between Elmira and Williamsport. Good luck this year!

i like it alot. biggest reason is my father in law has about 80 acres and his parents have about another 150-200 acres and its all private. and hopefully one day it will be mine and my wifes property. deer get big and dumb on those properties. im not too familiar with bradford, but i kinda know the area. i havent lived there all my life, i actually consider myself to be a(spoiler alert) jersey boy. sorry. haha.
