Hey guys! I have been creeping around here for a couple weeks reading everything I can, but today is the day that I introduce myself. I have been shooting bow for years but not hunting with it. This will be my first season hunting with a bow. I have a PSE Nova at 60lbs that I bought from a guy I work with for a whopping $120 with a release, sight, rest, quiver and 2 arrows. Not the best, I know but good enough to get me started. Ill probably splurge next year for a better bow. We are having an outdoor expo this weekend here and I took my girlfriend along and she really took an interest in shooting bow. So Im pretty excited to get her started shooting. So thats my introduction, I hope to be hanging around alot, reading alot more and learning everything I can. I can't wait till the season opens on the 17th. Im counting down the hours.

theres nothing better than getting the woman interested in shooting. now she'll understand why its so expensive and addicting.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. Im pretty close to Schnecksville but I go anywhere around the Lehigh Valley. My girlfriends grandfather has around 65 acres up in Danielsville that Im allowed to hunt so thats where Ill be and the 205 gamelands are pretty close to here. The brush is really thick in the gamelands so it makes it hard. But thats the fun of it. My girlfriend has a pretty small frame, shes like 5'2" and 110 pounds so shes not the strongest. Im going to have to find a smaller bow for her when I start looking, but I will find her something. Just gives me one more reason to make a trip to Cabelas.

I was so close to getting my wife to come out shooting and then my idiot friend talked about the hair trigger on my M9 being dangerous and shooting your own foot. He set me back months! I'd compare getting her to shoot to getting a stray dog to eat outta your hand. She was soo close and then dumb@$$ spooked her! BTW in no way would I ever compare my wife to a dog! It was the first analogy that came to mind. lol!

So I took the GF to the local Pro shop to look at bows and she found one that she really likes. She had a blast shooting at their range. I asked her if she was comfortable with shooting it and if she was done, she said yes and we were walking back inside and she was like “Wait! Lets do 3 more.” So I guess I’m pretty lucky to have a girl that loves to shoot so much. Now only if her work would give her more hours so she could buy it, but her birthday is coming up…
