I'm getting started again in archery after a 55 year break! My cousin had a 30lb Bear Recurve bow and we used to get together about every 3 or 4 weeks and shoot targets, ground squirrels, and ground hogs. That was back in about 1964 or 65.

My daughter and I bought my son in law a Diamond Deploy SB bow for his birthday on 9/4/17. He had been wanting to get a bow to deer hunt with but didn't want to spend the money. So the daughter and I took care of it for him. He was dump struck and for the first time ever couldn't find anything to say!!! I shot his bow a couple of times and remembered how much fun it was to shoot a bow.

So I went to the same shop where we got his and bought myself a Diamond Prism Bow, arrows, Plano case, Trufire wrist release and some odds and ends. It's a great bow and I've had a blast with it. Last week Sportsman's Warehouse had the Diamond Infinite Edge Pro on sale for $299.00 and I couldn't pass it up. I love the Prism bow but am finding that the grip is a little small for my fat hands. The Infinite Pro fills up my hand a little better and is also adjustable to 70lbs draw weight. I set both bows to 40lbs draw weight at a 27.5 draw length. At 69 years old I need to build up to 50 - 60lbs. I have osteoarthritis in my left shoulder so don't want to put too much pressure on it at this time. So having a great time and found a nice indoor range about 20 minutes drive from my apartment.

Glad to hear you're back in the game! Congrats and welcome to the site! Hopefully some new memories to make with the son-in-law too!

@gunfighter48 Im over in Monroe. Where do you go for a range. I have been to the knock point a few times with my 9 year old daughter. Im just recovering from an issue with my rotator cuff so I am on the sidelines at the moment.

    Nice to meet you

The Kenmore Gun Range also has a covered 20 to 60yd archery range. They also have a walk thru range. I have shot at Nock Point and it's a good 20yrd indoor range. I will be shooting at the Kenmore range so I can get my sights on my two bows set to 30 to 60yrds. Just waiting for the temps to go up a little. I don't like freezing myself!!!

I'm definitely going to go check out Kenmore. I'll drop you a note before I go and maybe we can meet. I can definetly use some pointers.
