Hi All, Brand new to the sport from NJ. Planning on getting into white tail this upcoming season. Currently shooting a Mission Riot, but just ordered a Hoyt Faktor 34 LD. Love getting out and shooting the bow, looking forward to learning a thing or two from everyone. Pony
WELCOME I saw your post on offshore bowfishing and commented. Glad you found the sight... pull up a chair and enjoy.
Great to see someone from Jersey. I am brand new and getting ready for the fall. Any recommendations for hunting in NJ?
Scout, Hang some sets early and (if your hunting public land) hope that no one steals any of your things. A lot of public land guys feel that everything in the woods is theres, and have no problem taking, or damaging your things. So always double check your stand and straps when you get in the woods every time. Just my 2 cents…...
You're not too far from me at all. I'm in hunterdon county. As for hunting, this state has multiple great WMAs that you can hunt. My personal favorite is Clinton WMA. They have ranges there for archery, shotgun and rifle. As well as turkey, pheasant, deer, fox coyote and many other game species. Pm me for more info. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hey brother! I'm from North Jersey...I haven't hunted there in years but I remember this one little fact....hunt the watershed around the reservoirs....seems like a no brainer but the nature of the reservoirs in NJ have several fingers and draws...more so than in other areas....deer especially bucks in early season will bed down on the tops of the fingers with the water to their backs....they travel those fingers to the feeding areas and to chase does....you'll see a rub line that extends the length of the finger...when it stops find the most tactically advantageous tree and chill....he will come strolling on by....or she will...but he's sure to follow the she...good luck!
