Hey everyone, new to the forum. I've enjoyed shooting bows since I was a kid. Started shooting cheap recurves instinctively with fingers, then went to a compound that I still shot instinctively, and then around age 19 I got a new Alpine Silverado and started using peep, fixed 5 pin sight, and a wrist style release. That's also the first year I started archery hunting instead of just firearms. Since then I archery hunt elk every year religiously. I do some turkey hunting with a bow too, about half and half between a shotgun and a bow. I have shot a whitetail once with a bow several years ago, but like to black powder hunt and use that mostly for whitetail. I've done quite a bit of 3D shooting as well, they are great fun and great practice. Most of the shoots around here are IBO style shoots that require yardage judging, although occasionally we have a "rangefinders okay" shoot. I've always just used a fixed pin sight, but a couple of years ago I got an HHA single pin and really love the clean sight picture and not having to gap pins for 3D shooting. I still use a fixed pin for hunting. My current bow is a Bowtech Carbon Knight. No specific reason for joining other than to B.S. about archery and hunting.
