Hey everyone, Completely new to bowhunting and hunting in general. I want to be ready for the deer season and turkey season next fall. I don't have any hunting friends in the area and I'm having trouble understanding the CT DEEP website as far as what I need to do to get ready in terms of licensing, deer lottery, etc. Can anyone point me to a resource that might have this information more clearly? Also, I'm not sure how you choose an area to hunt when you don't own land. Looking forward to browsing the site for more information. Thanks!
Welcome to the site and the great sport of hunting! As for your licenses and such I would call the local DNR and chat with them. Public land is always and option but if you're new you may not wanna deal with and try to get permission from a landowner to hunt their land for a small fee or maybe even free. Don't be afraid to ask any questions as there is plenty of knowledge on this site! Good luck!
