Rage and NAP both make low KE mechanical heads.

no.. he didn't know the brand... just that the shop dude said they where getting some in that would work for him cause they are supposed to work down to 40 pounds... the subject came up cause he's coming out here to hunt blacktail and I told him to get some fixed 3 blade cause he's only shooting 55 lbs... but that causes a bit of a problem cause he has no place to shoot broadheads close to site in and check broadheads before he comes out here... if these expandables work fine it makes things easier as he can site em in with the practice heads before he comes out... (he lives near Chicago and hasn't bow hunted in about 15 years, so he's relearning as he goes)

I think Swhacker makes a low pound version too.

From what I see, the low pound models are simply smaller versions of their normal heads.

In my opinion, that negates the number one reason to use mechanicals. The bigger cut.

For fixed broadhead tuning, get a cheap styrofoam target from Walmart. It will hold up long enough to get the broadheads tuned.

    Yup...

He could go with a Trophy Taker Shuttle T or a Slick Trick Standard and probably not have to tune much at all if his bow is set up 1/2 way decent.

out of all those heads. get a grim reaper fatel steel. there one of the smallest expanndable heads on the market that came out for 2015. i tested them on a 3d deer decoy with the real heads from 10 to 30yds. they fly like a dart/ field tip just like what the guys from grim reaper said.

Well dead ringer 1.5 inch 2 blade would prob work.... there is a brand new broadhead company that would definitely work. Its called afflictor broadheads I believe. They were out penetrating fixed blades in the broadhead tests I saw.

Grim Reapers have always worked very well. I used a standard grim reaper on my #47 bow

thanks for the responses guys.... I think the ones he was talking bout was the afflictor broadheads, cause they are new.... but I'll pass all this info on to him and let him decide.. if he can use a dependable expanding, it sure makes things easier when he gets out here :)
