Well I was supposed to be hunting the opener in NJ today but my sons leave was cancled. So we didn't go. First time in years that we haven't been there for the opener. So I probably won't be hunting till October 4 here in VT. Then we r going to NJ for the rut Nov1 as the VT season is closed. Good luck to everyone who's getting an early start.

 

A little smack talk here. Just like the Pats today, Team MN. will prevail. Team New England save your money and time, and try it again next season. LOL. Good luck, and hunt safe.

That's awesome your doin an all day hunt tomorrow Remy! Reminds me of my first few years hunting when I was a kid, me and my dad would play hooky and hunt all day on the opener!

All setup and waiting for deer and daylight! Couldn't ask for a nicer morning. It's freezer filling time! Feels so good to be back in the tree!

 

How did the hunt go Remy? See any? I'm jealous. Won't be out till Oct 4. Anyone out on stand should post some pics for those of us who can't get out yet.

 

Sorry I was posting mostly in the ,Live from the stand, thread.
Had a hunter walk in on me just before daybreak and ruin my morning. Saw a coyote shot at it but guesstimated the yardage wrong and went just an inch over his back. No deer sightings but it was a beautiful day.

 

Cool Remy at least you were out there soaking up the greatness! Any other RI hunters have a chance to get out?

 

I know that Joe(Swamp Stalker) got a nice doe that evening.

 

Well I lucked out, got a chance to travel and an now in NJ. Will be setting up stands tomorrow morning and will be hunting Thursday afternoon through the weekend. Hoping to see some deer and get on the board!

Yeah I was thinking the same thing.

 

Took a doe on my NJ trip. Good meat for the freezer. Doesn't help with this contest, but very happy to get on the board for the season. Next hunting opportunity will be Oct 4 for the Vt opener.
