I'm curious as well. This is my first hunt in NJ and looking for a sweet spot.

Bob, Down by the old greatwoods, right across the road. I've also seen some big boys in Walpole, over by Pine hill drive.

You must be talking the back side of Great Woods. I've hunted there before but it's been 20 years or so. I'll have to give er a look. Pine Hill drive huh, I'll have to check that out too, don't know where it is but I'll find it.
    Thanks

Probably not even gonna check it before season. Don't wanna go tramping through there that close to the opener.

That sucks Remy!!!! I'm going to check mine tomorrow. keeping my fingers crossed, but there's alot of acorns hitting the ground and the deer don't have to move far now for good food. might hurt me this season. we'll see!!

I'm always nervous about doing that myself. I checked my camera today and only had doe and forks. I's only one camera though! :0)

Maxpetros: I'm mostly zone 8. I hunt Annandale. Lots of great bucks and tons of does. Have a couple good 8s and 10s that should break 120.

I lived in Clinton Twp for years before moving to VT 24 years ago. That's why we go back there to hunt. We hunt Highbridge more then Annandale or Clinton Twp though because Highbridge is more friendly to hunters then the others from what we've seen. Sadly the police and many residents of Clinton Twp are anti hunters and try and create laws to keep hunters out even when they aren't doing anything illegal. Highbridge has been much more friendless, the police and residents have been very inviting, especially to archers, due to the deer overpopulation. Last year I was 30 yds from a 125-130 in buck while stalking on a rainy day but he just would not take that last 2-3 steps to clear some brush and give me a shot. Hoping to see him or his brother this year. I never did get a buck down last year.

Yeah I've done that before Remy. Really pisses u off! So far my cams only have bears, does, a spike and what will be a 100" 6pt. Though I don't count on VT. For a larger buck it's all NJ. No cams there but we know they r there cause we see them all the time.

Well I've decided to only take opening day off instead of the first 2 days. I'm saving the second day for Nov 10th, the day before Veterans Day. That will make it a 4 day weekend for me to hunt everyday from Nov 8th - 11th. Hoping that is a prime time this year.

That's awesome Bob. This weekend I'm going to ask a farmer, that I've been wanting to for a while, for permission to hunt his corn field edge. It looks like it would be a prime spot. I've driven down the road next to the field a thousand times and have always seen deer crossing the road to go into the field. Heck the worst that can happen is that he says no, right?
