A couple weeks ago the company I work for was sold. It's a lumber planning and pressure treating mill. It was privitaley owned since it was started 34 years ago, and was sold to a really big company that is on the TSX and does over a billion dollars in sales annually. Seems like a good thing but who knows, the old owner who is an advid bowhunter ( the entire office walls are adorned with mounts including whitetail, caribou, elk and black bears) , cared about the workers on a personal level and understood where we coming from cause he too is from the area. The new owner lives all the way across the country and probably couldnt care less about the guys working there. I'm just wondering if anybody else has gone through a sale or change of hands where they work, and what kind of changes they had to deal with?
Sounds like your already taking an offense to the new owners. They may be the good guys and saving the company or your jobs. The only thing certain in life is change. Things change for the owners of companies and the employees. Just focus on being part of the new vision and not hold on to yesterday. IMO. Change also makes life a lot more interesting. Can you image making six figures a year but doing the same thing everyday for 40+ years?
