I am looking to replace my whisker biscuit and upgrade to a drop away rest for next season. Any input on a good rest in the $50-$80 price range. I am currently shooting a Bear Strike 62# 29".

If you look around you might be able to find a Limb Driver in that price range. It's a great rest weather your a target archer or a hunter. Solid, dependable, quiet and accurate. Anybody I know that has tried one has liked it.

I think the ripcords are right around that price range. They are a fully contained drop away and everyone I've talked to that has them likes them.

Lots of good drop aways in that price range. I am personally using a Limbdriver myself and love how easy it is to setup and tune. I was a skeptic about this rest for a while, but I took the plunge and wonder why it took me so long.

Regardless which rest you choose, my suggestion is to make sure that is made entirely of metal components and all adjustments are easy to make. There is nothing worse than a rest that is difficult to adjust and even harder to make fine adjustments to.

i was thinking about switching to a right helical fletch next season also. Any input on this? and do these rests have the clearance to allow for this type of fletch?

That is one of the very big advantages to drop aways. They allow you to shoot very aggressive helical fletching and still get the clearance needed.

QAD also offers a $49 rest. It is the cheaper version of there HD rest but you still get the feature of full containment and stays up if you let down if you decide not to shoot. I haven't seen this in any other rest but doesn't mean theres not one out there and is worth looking into.

I would stay away from the cheaper QAD. I've read alot of pretty bad reviews on it. The QAD ultra is a damn good rest but it's not in your price range.

i have the qad($49 version) and it is awesome. i havent had any vane clearance problems. it has not failed yet, shows no signs of wear and functions flawlessly. i would look into them if youre on a budget and want a dependable rest.

I would look at the NAP Apache rest before buying.
