CArr's record past 97 is just OK, Carr ran himself out when he lost to App State.

CArr walked into the head coach job, he should never have been a head coach. If Moeller would not have gone on a bender one night, the past 15 years would have been very different. Moeller was a great coach.

    5-5 Bowls

1-6 agains Tressel(This is the one tha got him out of town also)

Talent he had and just wasted is amazing, look at the players he had, CArr biggest weakness is not using the Talent he had at Michigan.

Carr owned PSU, 9-2 and had a winning record against the SEC:)

About 10 yrs ago (at least it seems that way in my head), the balance of power shifted tot he SEC. COuld have been a little further back than that. Reocrds against the SEC before that really don't mean all that much (IMO).

It's kinda like the ACC (basketball). The balance of power in college basketball's been shifting away from the ACC for several years, now. They ain't what they used to be (as a conference). What's funny, though....is other conference's teams act like they still are.....when they beat them. Pre and post-season....they'll acknowledge the ACC isn't the premiere basketball conference any more.

I am not saying the Big 10 is the premier conference.

I am saying there are preimer coaching jobs in the NCAA... Florida, Texas, USC, tOSU, Bama, UM and to a little lesser extent ND, FSU and OU. IMO anyhow.

With the talent he had this was not hard to do in the Big Ten.

My biggest issues is when he left, he left the program 22 Scholorships short on players, how the hell do you leave a school like MI that short of players, Cooper left Tressel a pretty stacked team.

Carr's last win was against SEC Team. His last 5 bowl games 1-5, Carr fell asleep at the wheel

    What a terrible coach.... :jerry:

Betcha they would have faired better than 15 wins and 22 losses (I think thats RR's record) the last three seasons had he not been shoved out the door by your old AD :o

Look at his record the last 6 years against good teams, it sucks. I think we beat one, Florida in his last game.

Sure I agree he would have done better he had some players for his system.

This year where were the SR's for defense? WHere was all the upper class talent?

Cooper was 111-43-4 at OSU, do OSU fans think he was a good coach?

Better??? Hell he had stand out junior WR that left early and Mallett transferred. Boren transferred.... Borens lil bro went to tOSU (an outstanding FB). Whats his face on defense left early... He would have went on recruiting those same caliber of players he always had.... And they would have been players in the Big 10 and nationally, instead of a national punch line.

That loss to AP State is nothing compared to the last 3 years!

They were all leaving, just not Boren. Nobody left in the defensive side, hell they were already 20 players short on Scholarships.

Do you know why Boren left?

"Erosion of family values".... I have no reason to believe some UM conspiracy theory on why he left. He went to UM to play UM football. Not Big East sand lot football.

Very simple, Rrod would not give zach a scholarship.
Not a theory at all, just the facts:D

Mallet always wanted to play for Ark and once he left there was no way Mario was going to stick around to have Threet throw him the bowl.

No one has ever explained to me why Carr left MI 20+ scholarship players short? Can anyone explain that one to me?

Now going forward RRod made a ton of errors, from not adpating his offense to not understanding the traditions at MI.

Well thanks RR... "We" have one of the best FB's in the nation

Not to mention Boren III is a verbal for tOSU's 2012 class.

He's a really good blocker and fits Tressel scheme perfect. He could not play on any spread team, he will be in the pros for sure. He's like having an offensive linemen in the backfield.

Would Chip Kelly recruit him? No way, would any JIm Harbough for sure recruit him.

    Missed this earlier.

Yes, OSU thinks Cooper was a good coach. He beat most everyone he was supposed to beat. He wasn't a great coach... Great coaches win games they aren't necessarily supposed to win.

Both were excellent recruiters as well. But, Carr > Cooper. Coop couldn't beat Carr or win bowl games.
