2 years ago I bought the iPhone when they were first released. It's time now for an upgrade so I placed my order the other day for the new iPhone 3G S. I should have it in hand on Friday....I can't wait!

All I need in a cell phone is for it to place and receive calls. An occaisional text might be ok too. Oh yea, take a picture also

well the improvement from the 1st generation is the increased speed of the phone, the fact that it is on the 3G network and not the Edge, plus an increase in battery life. There are software updates that will not be available for me as a 1st gen user. However there is only slight improvements of the 3G S over the 3G. It would not be as big of a jump for someone making that upgrade. I'm on a 2 year cell phone cycle so it is time.

I want my phone to do as much as possible! :d

That is a nice device. I personally like the BlackBerry. I agree that I want my phone to be as useful as possible. Having a PDA with your phone is great.

I'd like an i Phone or Blackberry.. What kinda rates you guys getting for unlimited everything? Around $100 ??

My phone is free through work, Texting and calls free..everything else i'd have to pay for so I'll just slum with what I have for now.

Sounds good. I do like the iPhone quite a bit, but I'm on Verizon, and so is everyone I know, so I won't switch (plus I get a 21% discount. I'm the on the fence right now on whether or not I want to get a Blackberry or not. I consider myself pretty tech savy, but I really don't see myself using the internet on a phone that much. I've played extensively with the blackberry storm, curve, and the Samsung Omnia, and I just feel like it's a bit cumbersome to browse. That and the $30 data plan that Verizon tacks on, I'm not sure I would make full use of it. Plus, where I live, we're not on the 3G network anyways.

That being said, though, the iPhone is a sweet setup (my brother has one), I'm sure you'll like the upgrade just as much.

I have a blackberry, I like the iphone, its just not an option with my carrier.

After having a smart phone I can never imagine having anything else.

Sorry to hijack, but those of you with smartphones, do you really use the internet on them often? What feature(s) do you find most useful and used most often?

I didn't think I would use the internet that much either but since I got the 1st gen iPhone I wear it out. It's so easy just to hop on check bowhunting.com while I'm at work :d Seriously though I use it a lot more then I thought I would. Check the weather, movie times, etc.
