Would like everybody to visit our site at http://www.dawn2duskoutdoors.com and give us some input on our new camera arm "The 360". click on the pics to enlarge and we will have video up shortly Thx.
Sorry, I edited my original while you were posting this. I just said I don't film hunts, so I am not real familiar with different types of camera arms or what I would most like to see in camera arms. Good luck with selling your product though. There are alot of guys that film their own hunts here, hopefully they can provide you with some feedback.
It looks like a good idea, but looks like it would have a lot of flex and camera bounce - especially with the larger prosumer and professional grade cameras. The mounting bracket also looks a little on the small side. For the price, I think you're up against some better products like the Muddy camera arm. IMO this arm looks like it should retail in the $75 range.
The bounce happens when you bang the arm, but as for flex it is minimal. We have been using this arm and you do not see the camera footage bounce. This is a arm that allows complete follow thru when filming to the rear and also allows you to film from right shoulder to left shoulder w/o moving your body out of the way.
Definetly looks like a product that would have to be tested to give an honest opinion but I do have to agree with Justin regarding the price. Just going off looks it does appear to be priced rather high.
Wish that I could give a better opinion but without seeing it that is tough. I was just looking at the Pine Ridge arm that I have and it does have a few features that are pretty nice that yours doesn't and for the cost would make it tough to justify just based on looks.
We will be at the 2009 Ohio Deer and Turkey Expo March 20-22. Please feel free to stop by and see us.
Being a videographer myself, I agree with Justin, great concept, needs improvements based solely on viewing the pics. I'd be concerned with it's stability with heavier cameras.
For the money, I don't think it's heavy duty enough for my liking. At the same time, it looks like a lot to haul to the woods. (At least from the pics) I am just starting out (1 year under my belt) I have been running the Gorilla Swing Arm. It provided the best bang for the buck. 30 bucks, I ordered extra wide Predator arrow wraps and camo'd it out in Fall Grey. There weren't any shots that I felt couldn't be taken if the camera was setup right. If I were upgrading I would seriously look at the one from Primos for around 120 bucks and then buy like 5 bases with it. Like Rob said, nice concept, prob needs some ironing.
I will be at the Ohio show working the BowTech booth.. Although I am no video guy myself I will swing by (time permitting the Ohio show is insane) and give these arms a look and report back to you guys.
