Just got a call from the ATA, The new release is the BowTech Insanity CPX, resembles the Invasion, 32" ATA, 6" brace height, ibo 355 fps. And the 35 ATA is 340 fps w a 7" brace.. I like the sounds of the 35 ATA bow... WOW. That's all I know at the moment. I'm sure there are pics on another site, I'll see if I can round one up. It's not the rumored 371 fps that was leaked on a Russian site but we'll see how she shoots when they start filtering in to the dealers. Edit: Looks like the BowTech site was updated immediately. http://www.bowtecharchery.com/#/productBreakdown?r=products_products&i=38 CPXL http://www.bowtecharchery.com/#/productBreakdown?r=products_products&i=39 .
Nice looking bow, but I am not impressed. I was leaning heavily towards getting a new Hour this year and this just made up my mind for me....itsbeen a fun run with BowTech since I first bout a 2001 MightyMite, but I am not impressed with where the company has gone so its back to Hour for me, gonna go shoot the Carbon Element and Vector side by side this weekend.
PSE is really putting out some nice bows. Edit: Sorry, I mean I really like the new Mathews Monster. Double Edit: Oooh, thats a Bowtech. Nevermind.
Yep, I like the looks of the CPXL, and spec-wise, it's up my alley. Would be curious to see how it shoots, and more importantly, what the draw cycle is like. I'll wait to shoot Ben's when he gets it, and possibly add it to my stable when he offloads it next year:D
Yeah I'm not all that impressed. Actually a whole lot dissapointed. I was expecting at least a 360fps considering they have the Destroyer 350 now. It's .02lb heavier, has the same 6" brace height, 1/2" less adjustment on DL and only 3/8" shorter ATA. A lot of hipe for 5fps and a weight gain. Its a good looking bow but, not really anything like I was expecting, especially for that MSRP. Whats the MSRP on the Destroyer again? Can't remember. Guess I will just have to shoot it. When are they supposed to hit dealers??
I mean if it does not shoot 370, throw it away! Wow, I guess no bow these days should impress. The HeliM shoots 330, most PSE's shoot 330 to 345, Hoyt's in the same boat....Most archers will never experience the max speed anyway. Many guys should not be even looking at a bow with less than 7 inches of brace height as their accuracy will suffer. SPEC's are that, shoot bows that feel well, and allow you to shoot accurately. Bows are going to hit a speed plateau eventually. Personally, each company seems to be slowing down on huge changes. I am not fan boy of any bow manufacturer. I shoot Bowtech, but actually like what Matthews is doing. Their bows are working and performing, and they are keeping them reletively similar each year. Accuracy kills a whole lot more than speed.
SSA... my 350 was 799.00 and I know it was well below last years MSRP, not sure what they are priced at this year ... I shoot a shorter brace height with no issues, so the 350 fits my taste very well. It's a badass bow imo. I shot the Invasion a lot last year before going with the 350.. I personally didnt like the draw cycle or feel in my hand quite as well as the 340/350.. I like a little heavier bow too..it just sits a little deader for me. Anyway.. I am still gonna shoot this new Insanity when my pro shop gets one in just to "see" .. Thanks for the info Rob.. looking forward to hearing what you think of it when you shoot one.
I like having the latest and greatest bows out there,so i will be in line at my local shop to test fire, I also have a d350 and it is all that, sold my z7 over it so lets get some bows shipped already.
I really do want to shoot the new one and I want to shoot the D350 also. Just want to shoot them and see if they are any better than the Element. I like speed but, comfort and enjoyment are starting to get much higher on my list of wants. After shooting as much as I have this last year, Anywhere from 900-2,000 shots a month and going through 2 sets of strings on my last bow durring the off season (from Febuary to September), I really want to enjoy the bow not just the speed. I have yet to find a bow I enjoy shooting more than the Element. I will be doing some 3D as well so I really need a bow I can shoot a lot and not get tired of the draw cycle or grip. I still like to shoot other bows just to see what they feel like. The PSE Omen, D350, Insanity and the Vector Turbo are now on my list that I haven't shot.
The two biggest complaints last year was, they need a bow that is longer ATA... and they need a bow for DL longer than 30"... they both of that this year so they listened to the customers/dealers.. The Insanity CPX is 12 fps faster than the Invasion, at 355.. I'm impressed NOW, the CPXL, at 7" brace and 35" ATA.. this is going to be a shooter, I can only imagine the speed Ben / PA will get with his 31" draw (which he was disappointed last year he couldn't pick up a new BowTech) ... I'm jealous with my 28.5" DL... I think it's very tough to compart the difference in the 82nd, and D350 saying they only improved 5 fps.. if you shoot these two up against The Invasion, the difference is noticable and if the Insanity pair match the Invasion... that's impressive.. I'll be able to shoot the Insanity Friday. My in (local dealer and shooting partner) texted me and said it blows the Invasion away... I'll see...
I agree, I still want to shoot it just in case the draw cycle is any better then the horrid Invasion. I haven't found an Omen yet, but I want to shoot that also.
My good friend, and one of my shooting partners (Nate) just opened a shop, a PSE, Mathews, Bowtech, Hoyt, Elite, Mission and Diamond dealer is at the ATA show, he shot the Insanity, just texted me and said it blows the Invasion away, not sure how that can be but BowTech never ceases to amaze me each year. The top selling bows in his shop since he opened is the BowTech Invasion, a Mission bow followed by the Z7. He said the Insanity IS the bow for 2012... He used to shoot for PSE and his wife for Hoyt. But that's one educated mans opinion. We need to make up our own AFTER shooting them.
Fortunately my guy has the Omen in stock. He should be letting me know as soon as they get an Insanity in stock for people to shoot. I didn't shoot the Invasion. I did shoot the Assassin and was highly impressed. Especially for the price, I was not expecting much for $600.00 fully loaded but, it is a sweet shooting bow.
Love the specs of the XL. It's definitely right down my alley. I think every year, a lot of people are expecting someone to come out with the unthinkable, year in and year out. Bowtech is one of those companies that I feel has really pushed the envelope in terms of design and technology. I don't say that because I shoot one, its why I shoot one or am anxious to see what they come out with next. With that said, I see where some are saying nothing really "new" this year from them. They took a great bow from last year and I believe made it better, offering two options for it (32 or 35 ATA). I think Bowtech is one of the few companies that doesn't do this year after year. Matthews does it A LOT and so does Hoyt. Heck Matthews hasn't changed their cam system and Hoyt hasn't changed their risers much in how long? Not bashing Matthews or Hoyt. Companies can't produce something completely new each and every year. I'm glad to see them hit on an outstanding design and then tweak and improve on it the following year.
Exaclty, just look at the lineup. Insanity CPX Insanity CPXL Invasion CPX Specialist CPX Destroyer 350 Assassin Heartbreaker Assassin SD Soldier Every price range, RAK (ready, aim, kill) and while listening to their customers, longer ATA speed bow, longer draw lengths. WOW. And then a single cam shooting over 340 fps in the DeadEye.
