well I have been hunting a long time but just this season started bowhunting. Different game for sure, have to learn to hunt all over again. out where I live the terrain is very flat and open 3-400 yard rifle shots are very common. I bought a Horton fury crossbow and a hoyt charger compound bow this year. must say I am hooked have been closer to deer than I ever thought possible. while I like the ease of use of the crossbow it has its drawbacks, long time to reload and very bulky in a tree stand. I am hooked on the hoyt though its a blast! anyway got a slickhead (doe) with my bow and must say all I want to do is hunt! if you guys can recommend some good books on the tactics of bowhunting I would greatly appreciate it. mainly interested in ground hunting trees can be few and far between. also in stalking tactics. anyway thanks in advance chop
Welcome to the forum, I'm not the guy for ground hunting but I'm sure there are a bunch of guys on here that can help you. Happy hunting!
