Im 15 years old and I have been hunting since I was about 3 or 4.. I just started hunting whitetail deer "hardcore" about 4 years ago.. I just started bowhunting this year, a few days ago actually was my first hunt.. I saw a doe and a spike.. Both were out of range. But, Im hooked on bowhunting.. I shoot my bow ALL THE TIME! Its an old Hoyt my cousin gave me and its about 40-42" axel to axel and its pretty dang heavy.. It shoots good but I plan on getting a new bow for the 2012-2013 season. I think I want the Matthews Z7 Extreme.. My understanding is it is $900 without an arrow rest, quiver, sight, etc. I was wondering how much you guys think it would cost (total) for me to have a Matthews Z7 Extreme with some nice accessories on it.. Doesn't have to be top of the line.. But I need it "hunt ready" with stuff I can rely on. I would greatly appreciate any help and/or suggestions from you guys!

    Ian,
First off welcome to the site. Hang around and read up, there's a TON of good people on here.

Next, the best thing I can tell you is to go on the Mathews website and find a dealer as close as possible. Then go and price it yourself. I say this not to be a butt, but because I've seen prices range greatly from region to region. Also, if you want to cut costs, you can find a lot of stuff very slightly used or new in box but no longer wanted / needed. I saved a bunch of money this way.
The bow itself is awesome. There are a lot of us on here that have it and love it.

shoot what you have this year since you're familiar with it already....and you should wait for the next spring/summer when everyone starts selling their bows to upgrade to newer ones....you could actually find a decent newer bow for almost 2/3 or half-off the price of a new one....a steal for 1yr old bow....if you're in the market on your first bow, i would suggest you shoot a few other bows too before you make a purchase...can't go wrong with a z7extreme though....it's a nice bow...
