Hey everyone. New to bowhunting, just got my first bow in December. Anyone here ever hunt in western New York or from the area? Trying to slowly get everything together before next season. Looking forward to learning a lot from everyone here on this forum

Thanks guys! Can any of you offer any advice on what type of stand would be good to start with for this area? I've gotten a lot of mixed opinions on whether to get a climbing stand or to go with a hang on w/ sticks. Not sure whether I'll be hunting private or public land... but I'll bank on public for now

I use a combination of Lone Wolf hang on stands and ladder stands but I hunt exclusive private land. The big issue is theft, having a climber eliminates that chance so something to keep in mind I guess.

I have a ladder stand set up on private property. I take my climber with me when I go to other private properties and bring it out with me at the end of the day. I haven't hunted public property in many years... although I will be doing so this year. I have seriously thought about purchasing a Ghost Blind to use. My nephew has one and really likes it. The nice thing about them I like is the ability to put one most anyplace and set it up in a matter of seconds.
