Well after a lot of thought I decided to jump head first into this Bowfishing addiction I've come under. I bought a Grizzly Tracker 1654 with a 2008 Mercury 25HP four stroke. Then I decided to go with LED lights instead of the whole generator and halogen set up. I bought 10 24watt led spot style lights and one optima yellow top deep cycle battery. And from there she was ready to get wet, here's a few pics of the whole set up and first outing in it. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Nice! Do you have a separate battery(s) for the troller?

Lookin good man! We have so many batteries on our boat!! 7 in total, 1 starting, 3 for 36v 101lb troller, and 3 for our 8 50W LEDs! So much nicer than a generator though IMO!

Nick why three batteries for the 8 lights? all the info i have found online seems to say that one optima deep cycle can run 10 27watt lights for 21 hours plus? i cant imagine the 50 watt lights would be less than half that run time?

Cause 50W lights running 24V use lots of power! Using two recycled batteries last fall we got about 4 hours before the lights started dropping into low voltage shutoff. With the addition of 3 new batteries and we are adding 4 more lights it should give us more than enough run time

This is what I was going to ask you how long do you expect the battery to last. I have the same lights but only 8 and trying to decide if I will need one or two batteries. How long did you go out for and did you notice if they started to dim at all?

I buy alot of LED packs for work and they are cheap I think I was paying $20 for a dozen each pack puts out 1200 lumens and is 1.5"x1.5" I also have bigger LED rigs that could be fitted into an old Halogen Housing but not sure what kind of Lumens it puts out. Attached are 2 of the boards we build just to give you an idea the other I have at home and will post a picture this evening which would prob work better for you guys. LED's are pretty cheap though you just have to figure out how to utilize them.
