So I've put myself in the market for a new bow and I'm thinking about the Z7. My question is should I wait till after the season or do I have enough time to get a new bow ready? Oct. 1 season starts.

i thought it might be best to wait till after the season and maybe catch a sale. Plus I'd hate to miss big daddy cause I'm not comfortable with my bow.

With bows the way they are today, I don't really see an issue with getting a new one. Just make sure you do everything immidiately. Make sure you are 100% set up the way you want ASAP but with the season 3 weeks away as long as you are shooting almost every day I think you'll be fine.

I've got a High Country and I'm not sure what model it is. It's about 6-8 years old and it's probably the loudest thing I've ever heard. I think the let off on it is about 60%. I recently shot a newer PSE and the Z7 and they feel like there is 90% let off compared to mine and they feel better too. I should have known this would happen, pick up a new bow and I start drooling.

I did the same thing this year. I was just wandering around ****s sporting goods and came across the bowhunting section. Picked up a couple bows and thought holy crap have they changed. I suddenly got excited and thought I definitely need a new bow! I shoot a PSE thats not much too brag about however, I can shoot really well with it and I've never missed a deer. So Instead of buying a new bow I decided to upgrade the one I have already. It's worked really well. I've made it quieter and it shoots great. I think the best thing a bowhunter can do is be comfortable with the equipment he uses. And thats what I did. I got comfortable. And then made the final decision to wait a year and find my bad boy b4 next year.

I'd bet you will be able to shoot a new bow just as well or probably better than the bow you have now. I've had several new bows over the years and have noticed that I can shoot the new one better than the previous one with in hours.

I just updated a month or so ago and saw myself shooting better than before.

If your old bow only has 65% let off and you noticed a difference right away and you thought the new bows felt better, just imagine shooting one.

You can get comfortable with it quickly if you put in some range time.
