Just picked this new to me Shafer Silvertip up today...bought it off a buddy for an incredible price. 58" 53#@27",charcoal riser with stained quilted maple limbs. Good to have a 'tip back on the rack again. I had 6 Shafers at one time but I missed my Widows so I sold them and started buying vintage recurves and Black Widows again. Wound up selling all the Widows but one of them...love the PL V longbow.

That looks awesome. I've recently been doing a fair amount of hunting with a recurve, just for the added challenge. In fact, last year, I 'almost' had a shot on a P&Y with my recurve !

    Again, nice looking bow !!

Is that a recurve, Jim? That's beautiful.

    Congratulations.

All I can say is, these schafers must be blessed by the pope himself for you dump your widows.

Can't wait to shoot it in May.

I actually had the PL listed for about a day but took the ad off...I just couldn't do it. And I'll pick up another Widow when the right one comes along. When we come down to the Balt. shoot,me and my buddies will have alot of Shafers...everything from 58"-64" recurves...both 1 pc and t/d's,1 and 3pc longbows, differant weights. Lots to play with

Dave can build some beautiful bows. The thing is...they shoot just as good as they look if not better
